A good height for staking tomatoes is when the tomatoes are about two feet off the ground. The stakes used in this video are
7 feet tall and are 2" by 2".
Use your best stakes at the ends of the rows, as they will be holding
up most of the weight of the string.
The tomato stake pounder is designed specifically for these
kinds of stakes. It has a 2 1/4" by 2 1/4" opening.
The end stakes hold up best when they are pounded
in at a slight angle away from the row.
